 Why?
First post and im afraid its a moan. After one "bad day at the office" at Palace followed by Blues i am left wondering the following: Why one up front when we cant score with two? Why do we play with a minimum of six defenders out of the ten outfield players, with a further defensive midfielder (henry) making it 7 out of ten? Why as a club do we not seem able to understand that if you pay peanuts you get monkeys? Doyle 6.5 million, makes a great difference and looks/is a good quality player. 2 lads on loan from crap european league no good and after his debut at palace i doubt or hope that we wont see bia again! If we are saying that we cannot financially compete then fine. Admit to it and we can all settle for being a yo yo club. Dont then come out and say we have 30-40 mill to spend then miss out on numerous targets due to not paying the wages required which is all its about. Robbie Keane. "pull of celtic too much" Rubbish. He has been transfered for £70 million during his carear. Guess what inspires robbie??!! Not the colour of the shirt thats for sure!. And my main WHY? of them all is why do i still get so narky/angry/annoyed/ upset at all the goings on when i ,as most of us have, have seen it all before over the last 25yrs or so and know it will always be the way!!

 Re: Why?
Hi mph72, welcome to the Wolves web fans club, nice first time contribution, the point I would like too put across at this post and I think its relavent and been long forgotten, is that Steve Morgan wanted (and had the capital) too buy Liverfool, do you think he would have got away with so little investment in the Liverfool set up,(as he has with us) had he been successful in aquiring them, don't think so, so why is it then he does not show the same ambition or commitment to Wolverhampton, maybe he is just playing at it and is not as serious as we thought or hoped he would be and as so many people have said "If you pay peanuts you get monkeys!" and I am affraid that is what we are ending up with.....how do you others feel about these comments????

 Re: Why?
Hello tunna, i think that Steve Morgan settled for what he could get rather than got what he wanted, to be honest. Yes he has invested good sums of money to be fair to him, but the problem is that , and i wish i had this problem!!, he is ONLY (ha ha) worth 230-250 million. This means that he is playing in a card game with people vastly richer than himself. Its more of a comment on the whole of football really that he could spend his whole fortune and we could still be mid table!!! Now that man city have upped the stakes even further its only going to become harder to compete at all.Great if you are a man city, man u or chelsea fan but for the rest of us " i see trouble ahead" and the music will have to be faced!

 Re: Why?
Hi , welcome to the forums mph72. The reason we get narky/angry/annoyed is because we love Wolves and they love breaking our hearts I ask the same question of Mick's tactics to play just one up front. And the only posssible reason i can come up with, is that all bar one of our strikers are either injured or shite. We really needed a striker in the Jan window , but i think the powers that be put all thier eggs in one basket and hoped that players would definatley arrive. They(Wolves), instead of waiting for a player to turn us down at the last minute, should have said your in or out make your mind up now, so we can look elsewhere if not.(i'm slightly suspicious Hull deliberatly said Hunt may be avaliable, even though they had no intention of selling) I'm hopeing (probably in vain) that we go for a loan striker very soon, or tbh were shagged

 Re: Why?
Hi hutch. I fully agree about the strikers the trouble is that MM bought/signed them so its down to him to make it work. I think the hunt fiasco just shows our real intent in these situations which is to fanny about till the last moment then blame a player for wanting us to pay him what other clubs have offered to pay, and say we "wont be held to ransom" ! Thats fine and dandy as long as you dont actually want to sign anyone.

 Re: Why?
Welcome mph72. I think you concluded very well waht most of us as wolves fans experience and will be for the forthcoming years. Last season we played the last half not really playing well, in fact I think we flattered and fooled ourselves in to thinking we actually had a squad capable with some investment of competing . This is ultimatly the problem, Wolves like the Boltons, stokes, fulhams & west broms will always struggle, we are top 6 championship club, and a bottam 3 prem club at best. I remer having a converstaion last season with a Bolton fan - he commented that he would rather win more than lose games - and for Bolton in the prem he could not see that happening for many years... Morgan;s fortune is in property , and is not free cash, in fact its well known that wolves is a test bed for him a sort of project, he is not big enough to take on Liverfool, but would welcome jump at the chance of being a active director... As for our current plight - Mick we have known for too long is out of his depth so are is supporting team. I thought Jez would move on a replacement before now, but then Jez is a money man , does it make financial sense ??? as for the team, I have watched them many times (tv) this season, Doyle, Jarvis and the Hannaman are the only players I would stick in a lets say a Bolton side. The defense is too slow, midfield is not creative, and we have only one forward.

 Re: Why?
Hello kentucky, i think you are right about morgan and the team itself. I know we have injuries currently but Keogh, who i like and think really tries his heart out, is not a prolific goalscorer as we know and never will be at this level and Kightly is, in my humble opinion, one of the most over rated players i have seen. He is tricky and has some good touches but has not got the pace at this level to trouble good defenders and does not control games which is what we need. Milijas is it seems to me is incapable of playing for 90 minutes!?? Why? Not fit enough? I cant believe that, we have had him for months now. Physically incapable? Well in which case he shouldnt be a footballer and we shouldnt have bloody paid 2.6 for him! Ah well im going to the pub!!!
